Vitamin D Insufficiency in Children: Assessment, Prevalence and Treatment

Details: This teleseminar provides an overview of vitamin D physiology, assessment of vitamin D status, health effects of vitamin D, and prevalence of deficiency and insufficiency. The factors placing specific pediatric populations at risk, different forms and sources of Vitamin D, current recommendations for treatment and monitoring, and challenges in finding and recommending reliable vitamin D supplements for children will be presented.

Healthy Family Scavenger Hunt
When: Saturday, October 16, 2010, 10am to 2pm
Where: Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County, 249 Highland Ave, Rochester, NY 14620
Cost: Kids (under 18 years old) are free with a paid adult (limit 3 kids per adult). Adults pay $5 at the door.
Details: Activities at the event include a scavenger hunt through Highland Park, interactive and informative displays on nutrition and health, healthy food, games, prizes, raffles and more!
