Qualifications | |
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience Registered Dietitian(RD) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration(CDR) (either in place or received within 3 months of hire) One (1) to three (3) years of experience preferred Strong analytical, computer and communication skills Exceptional customer service and patient care |

Job Responsibilities | |
Develops and sustains an environment that supports excellence in clinical practice and promotes safety and quality patient care. Keeps abreast of nutrition advances. Clinical patient care/floor coverage as determined by clinical needs. Provides recommendations for nutrition support. Instructs assigned patients on therapeutic diets. Monitors patient progress and follows up per policies and standards of practice. Oversees implementation of clinical interventions consistent with patient’s medical condition. Documents in patient record all interventions per policy and standards of practice. Demonstrates competency in providing nutrition care in all age’s groups. Monitors and evaluates clinical operations for compliance with licensure, accreditation and regulatory standards. Evaluates and implements nutrition care policies and procedures. Ensures that the philosophy, standards and policies of the organization are translated into action on the patient care unit. Participates in therapeutic menu planning and supplement needs from a clinical point. Budget responsibility: to work within budgeted dollars allotted for clinical nutrition. Management responsibilities include supervision of work assignments, serve as a resource in resolving complex clinical issues, coordinating new team member training. Prepare and review team member performance assessments and recommend disciplinary action when needed. Preceptor for nutrition interns coordinating clinical rotations. Identify potential departmental problems and use the Quality Assurance Process to find solutions. Promotes collaboration and maintains a positive relationship with medical staff and administrative colleagues. Promotes the highest level of customer service as outlined by departmental standards. |

Qualifications | |
Registered Dietitian with active registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required Active Dietitian-Nutritionist certification in New York State by the Office of Professions required Valid NYS Driver’s License issued by The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) highly preferred for travel between RRH affiliates Completion of a coordinated program or didactic program and supervised practice program approved by CADE of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) 3-5 years of experience in health care industry, including acute care with management experience preferred Experience in the Nutrition and Dietary field highly preferred Ability to be on call during evenings and weekends Travel between affiliates on a weekly basis (Clifton Springs and Newark) required Demonstrated leadership and management experience Strong analytical, computer and communication skills |
