Job Responsibilities
 

Provides comprehensive nutrition care (MNT) and education for pediatric patients admitted for medical management at Golisano Children’s Hospital. Full time position with inpatient unit coverage and cross coverage. Rotating weekends or holidays with team of inpatient pediatric dietitians.

-Advanced Certification; Certified Nutrition Support Clinician credential required by 18 months in position.
-Inpatient or outpatient pediatric experience preferred.

Job Responsibilities
  Provide Nutrition Education, Obesity Prevention, and Physical Activity Interventions in 9 Child Care Centers each year. Tasks will include: shop for and purchase fruits and vegetables for lessons using company funds; conduct nutrition/physical activity lessons with 3 and 4 year olds within a child care center setting; conduct nutrition/physical activity lessons, including food demonstrations, with parents within a center setting; and conduct 4 hours of nutrition training with the staff of participating child care centers as they improve their nutrition policies and procedures; and computer entry of implementation data. The candidate for this position will be part of a team of 3 Registered Dietitians in western New York.
Qualifications
  Must be a Registered Dietitian, or eligible to sit for the RD exam within six months. Must have daily access to a reliable vehicle and be willing to drive to child care centers in Monroe, Wayne, Livingston, and surrounding counties. The perfect candidate would have : experience providing nutrition education to children and adults; ability to role model and motivate others to make healthy choices in nutrition and strive for a physically active lifestyle; attention to detail with exceptional verbal and written communication skills; strong independent work ethic; self-regulation of completing work tasks with intersecting deadlines; ability to take initiative; and comfortable meeting and working with new people.

The Wegmans School of Health and Nutrition is housed in the College of Health Sciences and Technology and includes undergraduate programs in Exercise Science, Nutritional Sciences and graduate programs in Health and Well-being Management and Dietetics and Nutrition with accelerated programs combining several undergraduate and graduate degrees.  The Wegmans School of Health and Nutrition is accredited by ACEND as a graduate program that meets requirements for students to be eligible for the registration examination upon graduation. 

 

Job Responsibilities

The Wegmans School of Health and Nutrition at the Rochester Institute of Technology invites applications for a faculty position of Lecturer in Nutrition starting Fall semester 2023.  This position will have responsibilities for teaching, curriculum development, and advising undergraduate and graduate students.  The nutrition focus of this position will be applied nutrition especially medical nutrition therapy and clinical nutrition coursework.  Persons who are credentialed as a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) are encouraged to apply. We are seeking an individual who has the ability and interest in contributing to RIT’s core values, honor code, and statement of diversity.

Qualifications

Requirements for this position are:

  • Masters degree in Nutrition or closely related field with a registered dietitian credential and at least 5 years of experience in a nutrition-related field OR an earned Doctorate degree in Nutrition or closely related field;
  • Evidence of scholarship or experience in the area of applied nutrition related to medical nutrition therapy or clinical nutrition.
  • College-level teaching, course development and/or experience advising/mentoring  students.
  • Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the college’s continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences.
